Education is the foundation of a bright future, but for many underprivileged children, it remains a distant dream due to the lack of opportunities and resources. This is why the Ventana Foundation (VF) has taken the initiative to donate books to the U S Nayak School in Patla, helping to bridge the gap in access to education.

The school, which provides free education to around 140 students, requested help from VF in providing books to their high school students. Upon visiting the school, VF team members Sudhir and Ramesh found the premises to be well-maintained, with a trust that receives a major contribution from the U S Nayak Charitable Trust. The school also provides free hostel facilities for boys, while girls are housed in a nearby government-aided housing setup.

Initially, the request from the school was for high school students, but VF felt it was fairer to provide books for all students, given that they stay together in the hostels. The school provided a list of required books for each class, which VF procured with the help of their vendor, Kitab Ghar. The task of segregating the books class-wise and count-wise was a herculean one, but the VF team enjoyed the process and was amazed at how a count of 131 students ended up with a procurement of a truckload of books, totaling around 3000 books.

The books were transported to the school, and the school authorities helped with the necessary segregation. A small program was conducted for the distribution of the books, with Dharesh, a member of VF's design team and a native of North Karnataka, chosen to represent the foundation. He spoke eloquently and was overjoyed to be a part of this noble cause.

Through this initiative, VF aims to empower underprivileged children by providing them access to education and resources that will help them build a brighter future. Education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty, and VF believes that every child, regardless of their background, deserves access to quality education.
